M1 and M2 Mac Notice - Frozen Mouse / Black Screen Issue

This guide will show you how to fix the compatibility issues with ELMO Interactive Toolbox and Apple M1 /M2 computers. Please note that this guide assumes you have already installed and tested  ELMO Interactive Toolbox on your computer. For help installing, please contact our technical  support team.

1. Open the System Preferences menu by pressing the Apple icon in the top left of the screen.

2. Open the Security and Privacy menu.

3. Click on Privacy and scroll down to Input Monitoring. If you see the lock icon, please click on it and sign into your account.

4. Toggle Input Monitoring off for EIT and close. You should now be able to use the Interactive Toolbox with no issues.

There are some instances where a failed install of Rosetta causes EIT to only display a black screen or even fail to start. If this occurs, please open a new terminal window and type:     

softwareupdate --install-rosetta --agree-to-license
